Raven Legacy Grant Consulting was founded by Virginia C. "Ginny" Hamilton to empower nonprofits and organizations through strategic grant funding. My journey into grant writing began while serving on the board of The Ashton Hope Keegan Foundation, where I had the opportunity to learn from Laura Green, a grants professional and nonprofit consultant at Ovation Funding Solutions. As my mentor, Laura guided me into what has now become both my passion and my way of making a meaningful impact. Recognizing how perfectly this work aligned with my skills and purpose, I pursued further education, earning certifications in Professional Grant Development from Georgia State University and Advanced Grant Proposal Writing from UGA’s Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
Since launching my grants career in 2019, I have successfully navigated the complexities of grant writing and secured transformative funding. One of my proudest achievements includes collaborating on a $7.2 million GDOT grant to fund 13 electric transit buses for UGA Auxiliary Services. Additionally, as President of The Ashton Hope Keegan Foundation, I actively secure grant funding that supports our mission to break the cycle of generational poverty.
The name Raven Legacy is deeply personal. It honors my late son, James C. Hamilton, who passed away in August 2024 at age 24 from Nodular Melanoma Cancer. James had a special connection to ravens, seeing them as symbols of intelligence, strength, and resilience, as well as the bridge between light and shadow. His favorite color, purple, represents wisdom, courage, and transformation—qualities that defined him. This meaningful color is reflected in my logo as a tribute to his enduring spirit and legacy.
At Raven Legacy Grant Consulting, I bring expertise, dedication, and heart to every grant opportunity, helping organizations thrive and continue their vital work—Funding it forward, just as my son wished.
